This week was kind of a difficult week for us! Not as much school wise as otherwise.
I got a present from my secret sister in the mail, and got a book to help complete my Gene Stratton Porter collection almost…

P. spent time volunteering at a Christmas party for the homeless shelter, helping to decorate cookies, sing, and his uncle played piano.

We had some minor car trouble early in the week, so I was without a vehicle for 5 days, while we waited for parts to come in. It was nice in some ways, but a little frustrating in others!
We had planned a field trip to Pizza Hut, and had to cancel it because of the lack of vehicle, but we just got more school done at home!

L. and H. tied this week on their math drill!! They are both doing well on it…it is fun to see!

We got some snow this week! Yay! That was something good. In all the trials of the week, I have been focusing on looking for the positive in things. I was finding that I was very thankful it was only the car having trouble, and not my children. We do not have any major health issues right now and I am thankful for that.

We were studying the heart this week. I found some really cool videos of open heart surgery done while the heart was still beating (real surgery) and we also did some anatomy quizzes online.

Here are a few of the links.

I don’t know if I can find the surgery one again….
Here was one

We also watched a Discovery video on how the bypass machine was invented.

I have not had time to upload my pictures, so this is a post without pictures for now!

We had classes, writing, science, and other. One of my children struggles with listening and not getting distracted while working on his school and while he is very smart, ends up falling behind. I am working on his handwriting as well as paying attention. He has gotten way better though!

Thursday we had the end of the year basketball party. It went really well!

Part of the food table. I should have taken a picture of the 18 pizzas we bought as well!

Sitting down to eat…a rare sight!

No more sitting! They played and played!

And played some more!

They kept it up for the entire 2.5 hours…

We were glad that they all got to come and it went well!

Friday, we were supposed to make hummus, but it is really hard to find Tahini in a town this size. Instead we enjoyed hummus with our tea from the store.

Sounds like a good week. I make hummus all the time, though I us Tahini, but it still tastes good. Hope your car troubles are over. :)
