Thanksgiving day started early, with mom, Bobbi and I meeting in the kitchen at 5:30 am to wrap 2 large heavy turkeys and put them in the oven to start. My sister had brined them at the college where she is going to school, so that was a new experience for us.

Fred and Cody peeling potatoes!  They peeled a great massive pot of them!
My lovely sister Mishael, working on the rolls!

My wonderful friend Bobbi!

Maria showing the proper way to crimp a pie crust, or I should say  the lovely way! She makes the prettiest pie crusts!
My  niece, who loves to cook and bake  at Grandma’s house mixing up the pumpkin pie filling!

My youngest brother, eating some cake of his own creation! He made a wonderful Chiffon cake, which a fairly complicated cake on his own. Not only that, but it is part whole wheat as well! We were quite pleaded to brag on him a bit! It is not every 9 year old who can do that! Several of the children lined up in mom’s new family room!
Do not gasp, yes, there are some pictures of me, however unflattering they may be!

The steam from the boiling potatoes is in this picture, but  my friends and I, hard at work!
<p>
We had a nice Thanksgiving!  There was lots of food to send home with people, and the children although there was some squabbles, we worked on them and everyone was happy and had a good time.
Mom tried a new pie crust recipe as she does not like shortening and it seemed to be pretty good, made with butter instead.  My sister Maria insisted that we add more butter to the mashed potatoes and I will admit, they were good!
