Does anyone else find it interesting about clothing sizing? I one day realized when I bought a vintage skirt one time that was sized like a 10 or a 12 and I was confused by it. I do not wear a 10 or 12, so I was checking into it.
I think it was around the 60’s, late 50’s was when sizing started to change over, but I remember seeing patterns that were size 10 and it is similarly sized to a size 4 and this was in the ’80’s.
Take a look at this cute vintage house dress pattern from the 1940’s http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30601855

The measurements on the dress are 30 Bust 25 waist 33 hips…but the size? It is a size 12…..but would be what we would consider about a size 2-4 now….it is like they changed the numbers around….
Anyhow, just interesting how the fashion industry manipulates people!
I love this dress pattern her by the way….I was thinking of buying it!
