I am loving Philadelphia!  It is such a beautiful city. The buildings are just so pretty, I want to take pictures of all of them!  I have been having alot of fun walking around and seeing all the historical sites.

I am taking alot of pictures, not alot with people as I am the only one here, but a few!

I was thinking about my grandma today as she died 3 years ago and how I miss all her little admonitions and lectures. I think sometimes we so totally disregard the admonitions of those who are older than us and toss it off to the fact that we know better. I miss hearing her wisdom that she always shared with us and her stories.

I look at the historical buildings and think of the past and all we  can learn. I was reading the notes Ben Franklin and his wife sent back and forth and realizing that people do not change all that much. We can learn alot from reading about the past.

Today I went to the Betsy Ross House. I was amazed at how small it was and how they shared it with other people. It was not like they had a small family. I think that we are an awfully spoiled nation now and wonder what they would think of us. We can learn alot from looking back sometimes. I also thought that people lost spouses very often as well. It was so common for people to be married more than once, and not because of divorce. It was usually death.

It has been nice to be able to get a good night’s sleep and relax. I can feel the difference. It is so amazing! I really need to take better care of myself.

Anyhow…..it looks like I have some books to giveaway when I get home!!! Keep entering!!!

It’s amazing what a good night sleep will do..I’m glad you are getting some..the first time in years? I notice when I am sick that if I get a good night sleep, I get better almost right away.

Isn’t it amazing how visiting places can trigger so many memories. When my Aunt Helen died last year and I went to her funeral it was the first time I had visited that area since my childhood. My mind was flooded with wonderful memories from my childhood.

The sad thing was that I couldn’t go back to that simpler time. I missed it and my relatives very much.

    Hi Martha,
On vacation by yourself and so far away from MT!!! I am glad you are having a good time. I almost called you on Friday night just to chat but figured it was probably right over dinner time for you. Enjoy yourself!
