I do sometimes, I think I can fuction without sleep, without food, get meals cooked, clothes washed and the house cleaned.

Why do I think this? I feel like sometimes it is expected of me!

I feel like there is a general thought that goes around that if you do not get up before 6 am. you are not worth much as a mother or woman. Do you ever feel that?

I had to realize that you have to find what works best for you. I found that when I was a mother for the first time that suddenly I needed more sleep than ever before, but was functioning on less sleep than ever before. Why was that?

For some reason it may look like you are being lazy one morning when you sleep until 9 or 10, but do you realize that mother was up at 3 with a baby that was coughing?

Maybe the baby got happy at 2 in the morning, maybe there was a dirty diaper in the middle of the night, you never know.

So, I guess what I am saying is don't beat yourself up if you are not the top of everything mom. I get up at 7, go to bed at midnight, and then do not feel so well! It would be better to get to bed at 10 when I can and save energy for the midnight runs for sickness!

I am probably thinking of this because everyone has been sick and have jumping out of bed in the middle of the night. Thankfully, Tony is back to sleeping through the night in spite of a cough still. Anyway, don't let what works for others make you feel bad, see what works and makes you the best mom you can be, if it is sleeping from 10-8, then don't feel bad!
