I haven't posted a recipe in awhile, but this is a easy coffee cake recipe. It is sort of fancy, but simple.

Cherry coffee cake

In large bowl mix 1 1/2 c. flour, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 t. salt, 1 pkg. yeast.

Heat 1/2 c. milk, 1/2 c. water, 1/2 c. margarine till lukewarm (120-130)
Add to flour with 2 eggs.

Beat three minutes with mixer Then by hand stir
in 1-1/2 c. flour to make a stiff batter. Let raise in a warm place for
45-60 min.

Grease 13 x 9 pan Stir batter, spoon 2/3 of batter to the bottom.
Top with about 1 c. cherry pie filling. Spoon remaining batter over by
tablespoons over filling. Leave spaces between them

Cover let raise until light about 20-30 min. Heat oven to 350, bake 35-40
min or until golden brown.

Mix a glaze 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 1/4 t.
almond extract, 2 t. milk
Drizzle over warm coffee cake.

Hope you enjoy!
