Tonight we had a basketball game! We had to leave the house at 3:15 and we did not return until almost 7 pm.

I had 4 extra children which gave me 10 people to feed, 7 of which were male!

Snacks for the game- Bowl of cut up apples and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies

Dinner-

Chicken in the crockpot

I forgot to thaw it out so pulled it out this morning and put it in the microwave on defrost during school. I had to run children around in the morning, but managed to get a full morning of school and running in. I put it in the crockpot upside down with a little oil and seasoning salt on it on top of canning rings on high at 3 pm.

Mashed potatoes- here I cheated! My husband had an early out today, so he peeled and made them for me while I was gone.

Corn– heated in the microwave

Coleslaw– shredded cabbage, some sour cream, little vinegar, sugar and salt and pepper

Pita bread- we made this in the afternoon and I was literally baking them until I ran out the door.

Gravy- made with drippings

Dessert-

Chocolate chip cookies

I got home and had dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes. All the boys ate and were stuffed, having seconds and some had thirds!  There was still some leftovers too of a few things!

This planning ahead really works out well! Plus, basketball made my son who never sleeps, so sleepy, he fell asleep at 9 pm.
