My Review:
This book starts with a very bloody war, where a young mother attempts to save her baby from an evil marauder coming to kill their whole family. Later the son of the same marauder is almost killed in the woods and saved by a mysterious “healer” who has a wolf of whom legends are told.
I was a little taken aback at some of the speed with which this story moved, at first it was very slow, then very fast. It made it hard for me to enjoy it, but it could have been the setting the book was in, with a sort of mystical feel about it and I am not a fan of fantasy. So, if you do like a touch of fantasy, and like ancient historical books, this one was very interesting and wove an fascinating tale of overcoming ones family grievances.
